Wilmot is located approximately a 35 min drive South West of Devonport.   Major industries in the area are agriculture, forestry and tourism. Tourists pass through Wilmot on their way to Cradle Mountain a major tourism attraction in the area. Lake Barrington is also a local tourist attraction, particularly in the summer months.
